Nikki Ponte

Nikki Ponte is the Founder, Fairy Godmother and Creative Director here at the Factory! Nikki began singing in a community choir at the young age of 6 and professional work as a singer/actress shortly after at the age of 12. The stage has been her home ever since she can remember - and still is today! 

With more than 20 years of performing experience under her belt, Nikki has been fortunate enough to perform professionally in theatrical productions, commercial and film work across Canada. She has won national level singing competitions and has been a featured performer in projects with the Luminato Festival, Sony Music Canada, Flow 93.5, The Honey Jam and the like. Her performance career has taken her across the globe, including performances in Europe, the Middle East and the USA.

Nikki is Greek/Cypriot/Portuguese by descent and took part in a TV talent competition called X-Factor Greece when she was 19 years of age. This competition sent her overseas for 2.5 years. She placed third in the competition, signed to Sony Music Greece and earned a Eurovision nomination, MTV Greece Artist of the Year nomination and MAD video music award nomination for Best New Artist.

Since returning to Canada, Nikki has continued to take part in regional theatre, and recently completed her BA in Psychology with highest distinction. Some theatrical roles include Gabriella in High School Musical, Wendy in Peter Pan and various roles across the country in revue style musicals.

Recently, Nikki performed at the George Weston Recital Hall with Orchestra Toronto as the Snow Queen. She is the lead singer of the corporate band Switchbeat, where she performs regularly at corporate events, weddings and music festivals. She is currently a Master of Science candidate in Speech-Language Pathology at McMaster University. She was honoured to receive the Clinical Achievement Award in her cohort for 2019.
