Nikki Ponte

Nikki Ponte is the Founder, Fairy Godmother and Creative Director here at the Factory! She began singing at the young age of 6, and professional work as a singer at the age of 12. The stage has been her home ever since she can remember, and still is today! 

With more than 15 years of training under her belt, and 20 years experience, she has been fortunate enough to perform professionally in theatrical productions across Canada, be featured in Canadian commercial and film work, win national level singing competitions and be featured in projects with the Luminato Festival, Sony Music Canada, Flow 93.5, The Honey Jam and the like!

Nikki is Greek/Cypriot/Portuguese by descent, and when she was 19, took part in a TV talent competition called X-Factor Greece which sent her overseas for 2.5 years. She placed third in this competition, signed to Sony Music Greece and earned a Eurovision nomination, MTV Greece Artist of the Year nomination and MAD video music award nomination Best New Artist.

Since returning to Canada, she has been continuing to take part in regional theatre, and recently completed her BA in Psychology with highest distinction. Roles include Gabriella in High School Musical, Wendy in Peter Pan and various roles across the country in revue style musicals.

Recently, Nikki performed at the George Weston Recital Hall with Orchestra Toronto as the Snow Queen! And is also the lead singer of the corporate band Switchbeat. Nikki is currently a Master of Science candidate in Speech-Language Pathology at McMaster University. Her goal is to produce children’s theatre/entertainment that is not only magical, but developmentally/scientifically based to promote children’s learning and development.
